Here are a few crabs I’ve seen recently while snorkeling or hiking. I always like to run across crabs when I’m out. Mostly because they’re somewhat unusual.

This blue crab was hanging out in a freshwater spring. A blue crab from Blue Springs state park, Orange City, FL. Just north of Orlando. Springs have enough minerals that some saltwater species can live there. I’ve also seen sting rays in the springs.

Flamebox crab. He was just off Peanut Island, Riveria Beach, FL. Flamebox crabs draw their claws close to protect eyes and other vulnerable spots.

These guys were at Black Point Wildlife Drive, Merritt Island, FL. Sometimes there are so many of these the ground seems to move.
Love these!
